In my lessons I am patient, empathetic, and pay close attention to both the horse and rider. When I recognize that either is struggling, I offer practical, creative solutions to help them adjust. Having a deep sensitivity to fear, tension, or nervousness, and providing supportive tools to help students build confidence is crucial to me. Teaching riders how to find true balance in the saddle and how to communicate clearly with their horse is one of my favorite topics in my lessons.
When teaching, my focus is on:
- Soft Communication through seat and hands
- Lightness in the saddle and on the ground
- Balance and Connection for you and your horse with a soft but strong seat and clear cues
- Body Language as a communication tool
- Body Awareness of horse and rider. Noticing subtle changes in your horse. Feeling if your horse or you are out of balance or tense
- Versatility, I would love that your horse can accompany you on any adventure
- Horsemanship, building a great partnership between you and your horse – mutual trust is essential
